Day 29: I am a survivor.
If you feel like you have not survived anything, keep living.
I was always told that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger and I truly believed this. I still believe it. I would go through something and I would come out stronger than before but then something else comes alone and it breaks me like no other. What do I do, what can I do, besides get up and put myself back together. Take a little of this out, add a little of that and bam! There I am whole again. I survived it.
Being able to survive is a necessity, there are things in this life that will break you into pieces and if you don’t know how to encourage yourself and speak life into yourself you will not make it. All the I am posts that I have written over the past few weeks have led me to this one. All those will help you become a survivor of your circumstances. They are daily reminders of just how strong and courageous you truly are; surviving is not an option it is necessary. If you plan on doing anything great with your life or in your life you must survive everything that is thrown your way.
I have been through a lot, just like some of you who are reading this post, and a lot of times I stayed in situations or circumstances longer than I needed to or longer than I was supposed to because I didn’t know how to bring myself out of it. I didn’t know about speaking life into myself until much later in life but since I’ve learned the importance of this one principle I cherish it and I use it daily.
For everything that you are going through, for every mountain that you are facing there is an I am statement that can change the situation. Take account of those things you have survived and turn it in to a statement. I survived depression, I survived divorce, I survived the death of a close friend or family member, I survived lonliness, I survived the rumors, and when you have all of them written down in big bold letters write “I Am a Survivor.”
You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. -Hebrews 10:36-
