Day 16: I am learning.
Learning is a natural part of life, it is one of those things that you should never stop doing. There is so much in this world for us to learn that it is impossible not to learn.
You can learn more about yourself, you can learn more about your job or the field you work in, you can learn more about your friends and family, or you can learn more about the community you live in. Google can literally tell you anything you want to know, it can even tell you about yourself if you dig deep enough.
Learning more about yourself is important, sometimes we react to certain things and we don’t know why we reacted that way. This is a perfect moment to sit back and figure out why you reacted that way. Did it bring back memories, did you not like the person, or was it the situation. Figuring out these things will give you a better understanding of why you felt the way you felt and it will help you deal with it better the next time.
For me, at 34 years old I am learning how to budget and manage my finances. Every day I am learning something different about this task when it comes to something I don’t understand I simply look it up. I am also learning things about myself in this process and learning how to correct those behaviors that are not beneficial to where I am trying to go in life.
When you stop learning you stop growing. If you are not happy with where you are or with what you are doing learn a different way of doing it. I did not like being mad or upset when people said or did something I did not like. It would ruin my whole day. I had to learn new ways of coping with my feelings and now I am not as easily upset as I used to be. I wasn’t happy when people cut me off in traffic, I’m still learning how to get past this .
Looking at yourself and learning things about yourself is no easy feat but it is a rewarding one. Take some time and write out those things that you do not like or you want to know more about. It doesn’t all have to be about you it could be about your job, your family, your friends, the car you drive, the street you live on, or a hobby. Ask questions, seek answers, learn, and watch how your view of things begin to change. Commit to learning, tell yourself I am learning. Learning leads to growth!
An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge. -Proverbs 18:15-
